I am cozying up under my favorite pink plush blanket while watching the unwelcome March snow come down. Luckily it’s too warm to stick.
Before that, I was taking Savi for a walk, wishing I had picked a more opportune time, as the snowflakes fell onto my glasses. I thought it was supposed to be spring!
Before that, I was trying to decide if I needed a jacket. I thanked Mingus for the new pattern he created on it with cat hair. Why do Columbia fleeces hold on to hair for dear life?
Before that, I was cuddling with B on the couch when he said, “Look, it’s seaweed man!” Or at least that’s what I thought he said, when really it was, “Look, it’s snowing again!” Pretty far off, but at least we had a good chuckle!

The “before that” idea works nicely here. The title drew me in and I loved learning how it had so little to do with your day (not a beach walk) and yet WAS from a sweet small moment.

I really enjoyed the format of the “before that…”, “before that….” You’ve given us such sweet glimpses into those moments, with beautifully precise details–the “pink, plush blanket”, the thanking your cat for the new pattern on your jacket, the “seaweed man” comment. What a pleasure to read!

You know I love a before that slice! You did an awesome job here – and I especially love how it all builds to the end/beginning with the misheard seaweed man comment!
