I will wake up at my first alarm, but not today.
I will get to school at the time I want, but not today.
I will get that 2nd step lesson in during morning meeting, but not today.
I will fill out that form, again, but not today.
I will print and send that other form, but not today.
I will organize behind my desk, but not today.
I will leave before 5, but not today.
I will make that dinner I had mostly prepped, but not today.
I’ll make that meal plan so dinner is ready on time, but not today.
I will read the next book in the series, but not today.
I will get to bed at the time I hoped, but not today.
I will do a lot of things, but just not today.
Absolutely love the repetition, the pun, and the commitment.

Beautiful format; I will be borrowing that right away!
And, yeah. I start every Monday full of hope and ambition. I plan HUGE GOALS and all will be so intentional and healthy and completed! And then stuff happens, and/or my mindbodysoul chooses to bonk out, and the chain of “not todays” happens. For many years I saw those “not today” days as failures. Now I am calling those “reality” and embracing them as responsive adjustments to my own needs. (Or trying to!)

I shook my head in agreement nearly the whole time I read your slice… yes, yes, and yes! I really like this format!

My mind is whirling with all the possible reasons why one might not get things done today…vacation, sickness, procrastination, a conscious decision not to…..I love both the certainty that things will get done, and also the acceptance that it won’t be today.
