My brain feels like mush
Adulting is hard
Sunshine is good for the soul
Leaving your kids on cliffhangers during read aloud is fun
The principal was our guest slicer today
I no longer have to eat in the closet
Hierarchies can be tricky
Helping students manage their impulsivity has been exhausting
I miss my teaching partner
Juggling all the things can be tricky
Kids can be mean
Hearing your daughters’ laughter is good for the soul
Momma’s boutique was open for business
Time at the park is time well spent
Where did all the bugs come from?
Puppy finds giant stick and tries to run with it
Bedtime is exhausting
It’s Tuesday and I’m slicing
I love this slice so much! I am so curious about not having to eat in the closet! That sounds like it could be its own slice!

Ahh, the read aloud cliffhanger! One of my favorite aspects of read alouds.

Slicing sounds like a big win today! I love all the kernels you share in this piece. The repetition of things being exhausting and tricky sounds like it captures your day, but also the things that are good for the soul–that makes it feel even more honest and real. Days do usually have both, and I love how you gave readers a sense of the broad range of feelings that get brought up in a day.
