Reflecting. Been slicing for a MONTH now. And I wonder what made this different than, say, a 30 day water drinking challenge?!
Now that I’m here, I’m noticing that I haven’t written in a LONG time. And it feels good. Also, I’m really random. Also also, I was vulnerable and posted some of my slices on fb and did not take them down!! Also Also Also I lowkey highkey still seek validation. I’m working on it. Hoping to get to the point where I write for ME and not for likes and comments.
Gotta start somewhere, and I started with my teacher friends. That seems like it is symbolic. I’ll have to explore that deeper.
Anywho, this is me. Raw and random. Focused and funny. Thoughtful and thankful.
Thanks for your grace and your honesty.
Hang in there, my friends ❤
Random writing can be the best kind. it can spark you off in directions you hadn’t realized you want to go. As a writers’ group friend used to say, Keep writing.

I love this line: ” this is me. Raw and random. Focused and funny. Thoughtful and thankful.” -I’ve enjoyed seeing all those sides of you in your posts this month! Glad you’ve returned to writing!

Just seeing this and loving your honesty. It’s hard to just “be”. I always ask that of my students and give then choices. It’s a given. So why not give that grace to myself? One day I’ll get it right, too. It hink what’s hard about writing for me is that sometimes when the writing is raw, there’s a backstory that is not present in the writing. That mystery is always interesting to me when I read someone ELSE’s writing, but at times I think “What if they don’t get why I …” OR, ” what if they don’t realize that …”
Everybody is not your personal friend. Hmmmmm.
