I love how you end with “when I leave the room” –leaving readers with a similar empty space afterwards as your dog has when you walk out. Though perhaps your dog doesn’t then contemplate how perfectly worded your poetry is, as readers do.
People tell me that dogs are like 2 year olds. So… they are probably thinking: “I think I have to poop”….or… I’m hungry…or….where’s my mom?….I wonder what we’re going to play today…..
What do our pets think of? You have a great wondering there. If only we could find out! This Haiku sets us thinking. Thank you

I so enjoy a haiku slice! I wonder if your dog is just waiting for you to come back or wondering where you’ve gone!
