Wednesdays

You can tell it’s a Wednesday, partly because I thought it was Thursday for most of the day.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because I tossed my reading plans out the window and regrouped. It wasn’t working and wasn’t worth trying for two more days.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because the kids felt kind of nuts today, but it’s not a full moon.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because my laundry that was washed on Sunday is still in a pile waiting to be folded.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because I started 3 slices before I settled on an idea.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because it’s an hour before Thursday and I promised I would go to bed early.

You can tell it’s a Wednesday because the weekly headache has settled in above the right eye. Don’t worry, you can tell it’s a Thursday when it develops into a migraine.

Hmm…I wonder when it will be Friday?

  1. I really enjoyed the rhythm of this piece. The predictability was soothing to me. I can really relate to the “…I started 3 slices before I settled on an idea.” Yes, it’s Wednesday, alright. I love how you end your piece, and here we are, a tiny bit closer to Friday! Hope the migraine decides to take a day off!

  2. I love this format. The first line: “You can tell it’s a Wednesday, partly because I thought it was Thursday for most of the day” feels so true to life…..and I love all the other indicators of a Wednesday. I really enjoyed reading this slice!
