I’m participating in the daily March Slice of Life Challenge #SOL22 by Two Writing Teachers! Today is day 9!
I close the curtains
And I pretend I don’t see you outside
Giving you the cold shoulder
But really you are the one who sends chills down my spine
There is a space between the two curtain panels
And I can see you there, through the cracks
Daring me to open, to take another look at you
Your presence is suffocating
It diminishes the hope I had for better days
Sunnier days
Warmer days
Days where life seems to be blooming
Again and often
For now, I will ignore you
Pretend I don’t see you there mocking me
But soon
Soon I will get a shovel
And will remove you, once again
I’m so tired of you snow
Isn’t it funny how the first snowfall of the season is magical and then it all goes downhill from there! Wishing you warmer days ahead.

I love the way you described the snow! It was a very clever way to write about it. Love the ending! Maybe it will be gone tomorrow 😉

Your beginning really pulled me in! I love the image of trying not to see it and pretend the snow isn’t there.
