It’s been a hard week and I’m not really sure why. I have lots to be thankful for–even in the midst of everything that is happening. I feel like this plant is symbolic of my week.
On Monday, a student arrived to our classroom with said plant in hand. Attached to the plant was a note, “Happy Spring!” A gift I decided to keep at school.
The plant started it’s week green and almost ready to blossom. It needed some encouragement from the sun and settled in very nicely on the ledge by the window. By the end of the day on Monday, one yellow daffodil was ready to say, “Hello.”
Today when I entered our classroom, I smiled to myself as the bright yellow daffodils greeted me when I passed them to put my belongings down at my desk. As I set up for the morning, in anticipation for the arrival of my students, I noticed that I felt a little brighter today, too.
