St Patrick’s Day -Ireland Memories

I am blogging each day in March for Two Writing Teachers Slice of Life Story Challenge.

Day 17 St. Patrick’s Day

I consider my background to be basic European mix. I have a small amount of Irish in me. I got the fair skin and some freckles but that’s about it. (I always wanted some reddish tones in my hair – and now I do that when I feel like it.) St. Patrick’s Day now has another meaning for me.

When my husband and I got engaged, we realized one place we both wanted to go to was Ireland. That’s where we chose for our honeymoon. Other than the flights to get there & back again, (long flights made longer by extended layovers…) we had a blast! We spent a little over a week and still didn’t make it to everywhere we wanted to explore.

The roads, the food, the lilt in the voices, the scenery, and of course, the company. Here is a glimpse of our trip. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  1. I was lucky enough to go on a 5 day business trip to Dublin with my husband 20 years ago. I really would like to go back. I spent the days exploring on my own while he worked so he missed out on a lot.
