Road Trip with Your Parents

Day 8 of the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted by the Two Writing Teachers! #SOL26

A road trip with your parents
Look a little bit different
Than when you were younger
There’s no whining
And bickering with your siblings
There’s no “We’re almost theres”
Just pleasant conversation
A visit to Ikea
Burgers and Beverages
Then off to an NHL game
Penguins vs Flyers
Singing
Dancing
Bantering
Cheering
Picture taking
Laughter
Overtime
A shootout
Sorry, Penguins
Flyers are victorious
Car ride home
A road trip with your parents
Look a little bit different
Than when you were younger

  1. As a parent of grown children, sometimes I like to sit in the back and ask are we there yet, when we go on our adventures. But mostly, I sit back and enjoy the new chapter of spending time together.
