Day 1 of the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted by the Two Writing Teachers! #SOL26

Schnauzer sisters approve of the sunshine
They sniff and run and prance
They tug and snort and sniff
Smiling happily they enter the house
They drink from their water bowl
Then Piper zooms around the house
Izzy follows behind, barking and lunging
Panting, tongues out, they smile big
Schnauzer sisters approve of the sunshine
I’m here for the dogs! Cute girls. They remind me of our Stanley, whom I think has a touch of Schnauzer in him.

I’ve always showed up for cat posts. However, the new grandpup in my son’s family is pulling me toward dog posts too! This would be a fun poem to use with students and talk about verbs. Your vivid verbs painted a lively picture.

Love this! 🙂 I always considered myself a cat person until my family talked me into getting a puppy… and then another puppy a year later!

Thanks so much. 🙂 For sure! I’m just thankful the snow has mostly melted. They are so tiny we had to shovel paths through our backyard. This winter has been an adventure for our dogs, lol.

I feel like I can hear the pups barking this poem. It’s so joyful and full of sunshine. It’s how Finn feels about the sunshine too…
