Once we settled on the dates and confirmed the airline prices, our trip was booked.
“Not sure it’s worth it to go for only four days” comments my mom.
I reply, “When traveling with young kids- four days is teetering on too long- especially since we have to travel on both ends of the trip to get to our desired airport.”
I was confident in my decision 6 months ago and today- the end of day 3 (with the flight tomorrow) I think my mom is realizing I was right.
You know when you go somewhere and you realize just a moment too late that you should have already left? You know- the classic signals of tears, grumpiness, starvation after all of the snacks, meals, and desserts? The moment all rationalization and logic thought has left the building?
Yup. That equates to four days on vacation. Just a little PSA in case anyone is planning a trip for the future! In the meantime, we will be over here just gritting our teeth and firmly reminding our children how lucky they are to have the opportunity to go on such a fun vacation with family 🥴
Your last line is such a zinger! I hope what you remember most about the trip are the fun times.

Ha, yes! I think if it as the “we should have left 20 minutes ago” feeling. I never thought of it applied to a whole trip, but you are so right! A relatable slice for sure.

Oh nooo 😦 I know the exact moment you’re talking about re: staying for too long! How old are your kiddos?
Hopefully, they look back and only remember the fun!
