“Nothing brings to life again a forgotten memory like fragrance.”
–Christopher Poindexter
I walked into the dollar store after school
and the smell immediately made me think of my grandmother
and running errands with her on the weekends
and standing in a similar aisle,
where I talked her into buying me a new trinket for my dresser
and a box of markers
and a new word search book
It’s amazing how a certain smell can instantly take you back to another moment in time
I’m participating in the Slice of Life Tuesday Challenge brought to you by the Two Writing Teachers in preparation for the Slice of Life Story Challenge. This will be my tenth year participating!
I’m excited to be slicing again, and to be reading your slices as well! Here’s to another year of flexing our writing muscles =)
