Every parent can relate to experiencing different ‘seasons’ of your kiddos’ lives. We have 4 girls: 9, 8, and 4-year old twins. My husband and I have arguably only experienced ‘survival season’ until the past year or so.
Right now, my family is playing UNO Attack, and I’m squeezing in my slice for today. People…this is a new season for us. ALL of my children can play card games like UNO! We can do things as a family of six like: play UNO, Sorry, and Yahtzee (one of our favorites).
I know this season is fleeting… about as fleeting as the time it took to get here. My older girls will become middle schoolers and high schoolers, and who knows what our family time will look like? The truest cliche of parenting is “the days are long, but the years are short”. What genius worded it so perfectly?
Gotta run, we’re switching to Yahtzee and I’m all in!
Part of Slice of Life by Two Writing Teachers March Slice a Day Challenge! I’m slicing every day this month. Thanks for stopping by.
Have fun! I loved when our boys could start playing games that required a bit of strategy. It’s fun to see how their personalities affect their style of play.

Sounds like a lot of fun family time! My girls are almost 8 and 6. I have loved that we can do so many things as a family of four!

I can really connect to this post. Family game nights are the best–and our youngest who is also 4, finally has the attention span to play & finish games. Enjoy!

I’m a little jealous! It was a fleeting moment when my three boys would agree to play together. Enjoy this while you have it!
