Part of Slice of Life by Two Writing Teachers March Slice a Day Challenge! I’m slicing every day this month. Thanks for stopping by.
Today I’m feeling thankful for my fifth grade team ❤
They have been my rock, more times than I can count this year
Giving me encouragement and reminding me that I’m not alone
They show me kindness, like sharing their mushroom omelette because I forgot my lunch… again.
Today I’m feeling thankful for screen breaks and sunshine
For taking… no making the time to step away from the screen and outside into the fresh air
For walks around the track and conversations with one of my best friends
For listening and watching kids run and laugh and talk and play
Today I’m feeling thankful for spirit weeks
Wearing rainbow cheetah pants… and a t-shirt that shares reading is my superpower
For all of the fun socks my students wore to school today.
Today I’m feeling thankful for my math class
17 students in-person and several from home,
who waited patiently and shared encouraging words
when our technology failed for the millionth time this year
Even though everything was set up and ready to go when they were at recess
They laughed with me when our projector made it look like ants running down the screen
And when our document camera would NOT connect to my computer AGAIN
They asked if maybe we should take a walk–for you Mrs. Kellander, you deserve a break
They chuckled when I moved the white bookshelf AGAIN… so the mathematicians at home could also see and feel part of our math lesson
Today I’m feeling pretty thankful ❤
I love how in the midst of the insanity, there is still so much to be thankful for. Yay for an amazing team and for you writing this post and reminding me how much I have to be thankful for! ❤️

Screen breaks and sunshine are certainly things to be thankful for. I’m not sure what the weather was like yesterday in your part of the state, but out here in Lancaster County, we hit 55 degrees, which was downright lovely!

In the midst of all that is going wrong, it is important to remember what is going right. Your post does a great job of that!
