It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Some friendships are meant to last a lifetime, while others may only last for a season of your life. It truly does take a long time to grow an old friend. I’ve always loved this quote and feel like it describes my friendship with L and J perfectly. We’ve been friends since middle school. And although our paths have taken us in different directions, we are still a huge part of each other’s lives. We may not see each other in person very often, but we talk every day. We show up and support each other–even from afar. Whether it be a funny meme, words of encouragement, a box of tea in the mail, a surprise bouquet of flowers after  a rough week, or a three-way-phone call. We let each other know that we matter and we care and we treasure our friendship.
