Day 10 of the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted by the Two Writing Teachers! #SOL24
Spring break is over. I can feel the stress creeping back in. Avoiding my planbook, I scrolled on social media and this popped up on my feed:
“You ARE making a difference in their lives, even when it doesn’t feel like it. This job is tough, and so are you. You ARE the best part of someone’s day, even if they don’t tell you. It’s okay to leave work at school. You can tackle it tomorrow. You are SO MUCH MORE than the standards you teach. You need to take care of yourself, before taking care of someone else.”
Was my phone listening to my thoughts? This was a sign… I think. And so, I opened-up my plan book, I hit play on the PSSA mandated training, and then I ate a whole sleeve of thin mints.
Ha! Oh Krista – that last line on eating the whole sleeve of Thin Mints says it all. What a great comedic twist at the end. And for sure, you are not alone in this feeling at all.
