Parenting is Hard

One minute you’re the best mom in the world
You’re holding hands
And rollerblading outside
You’re laughing and smiling
The sun is shining
The dog is running
Tongue flopping in the wind
It’s over 70 degrees!
And your child exclaims
This is the BEST day ever!

And then it’s dinner
You make something new
Turkey roll ups
With stuffing
And gravy
And their favorite green beans
Made the way they usually love them
And your child exclaims
I thought you were a good mom!
You’re the baddest mom!
These green beans are horrible!
This is the worst day ever!
Parenting is hard

  1. We have to KNOW inside , that our intentions are all good ones for our little ones.
When they lash out, sometimes it’s just that they are tired, lonely, confused or want you to comfort them. Babies cry….(“I need you”!) Children whine/use harsh words/accuse…all to bring you closer. (Sheesh!)

  2. You’ve captured these small moments so beautifully! The hardness of dinner, and the joy in the time you spent outside. Such a pleasure to read.
